Must the father help pay for the pregnancy? Yes. Georgia counts an unborn child with a detectable heartbeat as a 'child' for child support; before birth a court can order the father to pay the mother's direct medical and pregnancy-related expenses (that is the cap until birth), and full child support applies after birth.

In Georgia a parent can safely hand over a newborn up to 30 days old. Where: On-duty staff at a medical facility (hospital, health center, birthing center), fire station, or police station; only the mother may relinquish. You can stay anonymous.

Covers Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta area, Macon, Columbus, Athens, Albany and Valdosta. Augusta Care Pregnancy Center (augustacpc.org) could not be verified (site behind a bot check). Athens Pregnancy Center (767 Oglethorpe Ave., per the state DPH list) also exists but its own site showed no address. North Georgia (Gainesville, Dalton, Rome) not yet covered. The Kolbe Center gives material help (diapers, formula, car seats) rather than medical services.
