For dads
A father's responsibility in Idaho
Must the father help pay for the pregnancy? Partly. A paternity case can be filed before or after birth; the court's order can make the father pay or repay the mother's necessary costs of confinement and recovery and such pregnancy expenses as the court thinks proper, plus support back to before the order.

Safe haven: no one gets hurt, no questions asked
In Idaho a parent can safely hand over a newborn up to 30 days old. Where: Hospitals, physicians' offices and clinics, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, EMTs/paramedics, staffed fire stations; newborn safety devices at 24/7-staffed hospitals, fire stations, law enforcement or medical providers. You can stay anonymous. There are 1 Safe Haven Baby Boxes in the state.

Stanton Healthcare (Meridian/Boise) is a well-known provider but its website blocked automated checks, so it is left out until checked by hand. Rural central Idaho (Salmon, Grangeville) is thinly covered.
