Must the father help pay for the pregnancy? Yes. In a paternity case the court must order the father to pay at least 50% of the reasonable costs of the pregnancy and birth, including prenatal care, delivery, hospital stay, postpartum and postnatal care; a pregnant woman can file the paternity case before the baby is born.

In Indiana a parent can safely hand over a newborn up to 60 days old. Where: Emergency medical services providers (hospitals, fire stations, EMS stations); newborn safety devices (baby boxes); 911 dispatch. You can stay anonymous. There are 136 Safe Haven Baby Boxes in the state.

These are listed in Heartbeat International's Option Line directory, but we couldn't confirm the phone number on the center's own website. Call before you go.
Indiana has many centers; raindrop.org/pcc/pcc-in.htm lists over 60 and was used as a lead source. Fort Wayne also has three Women's Care Center offices. Crossroads Care Clinic (Terre Haute) was left out because its site shows conflicting phone numbers; The Hannah Center (Bloomington) currently refers women elsewhere.
