Must the father help pay for the pregnancy? Yes. Since July 1, 2025, Kansas child support law covers an unborn child from conception: support for the pregnancy is calculated from the date of conception and is capped at the mother's direct medical and pregnancy-related expenses (not including elective abortion costs).

In Kansas a parent can safely hand over a newborn up to 60 days old. Where: On-duty employees at police stations, sheriff's offices, law enforcement centers, fire stations, city/county health departments, medical care facilities; newborn safety devices. You can stay anonymous. There are 1 Safe Haven Baby Boxes in the state.
