A safe place to live during pregnancy and after. Many don't publish their address for residents' safety; call to talk with them.
Health coverage: Maryland Medicaid: Healthy Babies (pregnancy and postpartum coverage)
Free or low-cost pregnancy care. Income limit: Medicaid up to 264% FPL; also offers CHIP 'unborn child' (FCEP) prenatal coverage, regardless of immigration status.
Must the father help pay for the pregnancy? Partly. In a paternity case the court may order the father (or mother) to pay all or part of the mother's medical and hospital costs for pregnancy, childbirth and recovery, plus the baby's newborn medical costs. A paternity case can be started during pregnancy.

In Maryland a parent can safely hand over a newborn up to 60 days old. Where: A responsible adult or a designated facility: hospitals, licensed medical providers' offices, police departments/State Police barracks, fire companies; newborn safety devices.

No statewide association could be confirmed online; raindrop.org/pcc/pcc-md.htm (about 35 Maryland centers) was the lead source. The Eastern Shore below Elkton (Salisbury, Easton) and Southern Maryland are not covered here because those centers' sites did not show a usable phone or street address when checked; Care Net of Southern Maryland (Lexington Park) can be reached at (301) 737-4604. Centro Tepeyac serves many Spanish-speaking mothers.
