Free or low-cost pregnancy care. Income limit: Medicaid up to 199% FPL; prenatal coverage through the CHIP 'unborn child' (FCEP) option up to 202% FPL, regardless of immigration status.
Coverage continues for 12 months after birth. You may be able to get care right away while your application is processed (presumptive eligibility).
Must the father help pay for the pregnancy? Partly. The father is liable for the reasonable expenses of the mother's pregnancy, confinement (birth) and recovery, and of the child's birth. These are enforced like child support, and a paternity case can be filed during pregnancy.

In Nebraska a parent can safely hand over a newborn up to 90 days old. Where: On-duty employees at licensed hospitals, staffed fire stations, staffed law enforcement agencies, emergency care providers.

Collage Center also has a Columbus office (3314 26th Street Suite A, 402.835.2190); Essential Pregnancy Services has Maple Village and Bellevue testing centers; Women's Resource Center (North Platte) also serves Lexington. Birthright of Lincoln is another option (birthright.org/lincolnne). Northern Sandhills and Panhandle beyond Gering have thin coverage.
