Must the father help pay for the pregnancy? Partly. The father is liable for the reasonable expenses of the mother's confinement (birth) and recovery, and pregnancy expenses as the court decides. These are treated as cash medical support in the filiation order, and a paternity case can be filed during pregnancy.
