Must the father help pay for the pregnancy? Yes. Since May 2023 a biological father owes child support starting from the date of conception, plus 50% of the mother's pregnancy expenses (including half her unsubsidised insurance premiums); if paternity is disputed, the duty applies retroactively to conception with interest.

In South Carolina a parent can safely hand over a newborn up to 60 days old. Where: Hospitals or hospital outpatient facilities, law enforcement agencies, fire stations, EMS stations, staffed houses of worship (staff present). You can stay anonymous.
