A father's responsibility in Washington
Must the father help pay for the pregnancy? Partly. A judgment establishing parentage may order one parent to pay the reasonable expenses of the mother's pregnancy and childbirth; a parentage case can be started, and an order entered, before birth, but enforcement waits until the baby is born.
