For dads
A father's responsibility in Wisconsin
Must the father help pay for the pregnancy? Partly. A paternity judgment must include an order setting the father's share of the reasonable expenses of the mother's pregnancy and the baby's birth (capped at half of the total), based on his ability to pay; a paternity action can be filed before birth but is paused until after the birth, and no back child support may be ordered for any time before birth.

In Wisconsin a parent can safely hand over a newborn up to 72 hours old. Where: Law enforcement officers, EMS practitioners, hospital staff (sheriff's offices, police stations, fire stations, hospitals); by calling 911; newborn infant safety devices. You can stay anonymous. There are 3 Safe Haven Baby Boxes in the state.
