For dads

A father's responsibility in Wyoming

Must the father help pay for the pregnancy? Partly. Wyoming has no general rule making the father pay the mother's pregnancy costs. A court setting child support may take the mother's pregnancy and confinement expenses into account, and if Medicaid paid the birth costs the father must repay them to the state. A parentage case can be started before birth.
Wyo. Stat. § 20-2-307(b)(vi) (pregnancy and confinement expenses as a factor for departing from presumptive support); § 14-2-822(g), §§ 14-2-1001 to -1008 (Medicaid Fairness Act: father repays Medicaid-paid birth costs) and § 20-2-401(f); § 14-2-811 (proceeding before birth)
